The Hidden Codes in our World

For my second unit in my computer science class, we started to work with coding. We started by learning how to print names and then slowly started moving towards more advanced things like trying to print equations. Eventually, we had a test on the basics of computer science and the terms of it as well. I didn’t do as well as I wanted to and I knew we would have a project on coding so I wanted to be prepare. For our second unit Action Project, we had to create two codes. Our first code had to be setting up an advanced calculator where it asks you for a number. For mine code I let people put the weather in Celsius and convert it into Fahrenheit. For the second code, we had to ask the user to insert personal information and write a letting like mad libs which is a game where words are left out so you can add your information. For this, I asked the user to insert their name, age, ward, and then asked them what issue they care about. For these codes I used a coding website called Trinket.io. You can try both of my codes below.

While creating both of my codes I really struggled to try to pick what I wanted to put into the codes. After getting help on what to do the only problem was trying to code it. After meeting with my teacher I really understood how to create my code and started to make my calculator. For my calculator, I was thinking about converting inches to centimeters. My teacher showed me how to do it but I didn’t want to use his example so I tried to do Celsius to Fahrenheit. After trying to coding it many times I couldn’t get it.  I looked up an example and watched a computer science teacher explain how to convert numbers and it helped me, even more, understand the basics of coding. Not being able to code at first was the most difficult thing in the project. After finishing the calculator I moved on to the fill in the blank part of the project. This side of the project was easier to do because of what I did for coding my calculator. Being able to code this was the easiest part of the project for me. When I first started this Action Project I had no idea what I was doing but when I finished I feel like I have learned so much about coding. Thank you for talking a look at my codes.
