this ROCKS!

In h2O were learning about water and how to filter it. We went on a F.E. last week to a purification plant and I learned how water filters look and work. The question i'm answering is how to filter water. My hypothesis is that the water will be pretty clean that it's possible to drink.

MATERIALS:
 -bottle
 -ice cream container
 -coffee filters
 -funnel
 -sand
-pebbles

I made my project by using the ice cream container at the bottom so the water can filter at the end. Then i put the bottle with a filter on it and pebbles and another filter in the bottle. Finally i put a funnel with a coffee filter and sand at top of the bottle. It will work because the coffee filters will take most of the dirt in the water. And i'm not sure how it would work i just feel good about my filter. My filter is similar to groundwater filtration because they both filter water to make it clean so we can drink and use the water. My hypothesis is that the water will be pretty clean that it's possible to drink.I got my water from the faucet of GCE kitchen. My ph before is 6.1 my ph after is 6.3. My water before smells really dirty like dirty ocean water and looks foggy and has dark black pebbles in it. My water after is really clear but is a little foggy and smells like clean ocean water. I conclude that my hypothesis was correct and incorrect because it was pretty clean but foggy and it was not drinkable because i put coal into it and it looked really gross and dirty. The after water smelled really clean like a ocean and my dirty water smelled like an ocean but a dirty one. My hypothesis was that the water will be pretty clean that it's possible to drink. I picked this design because I saw this in a video and just got some ideas from it and I need up looking like it but had different materials used. H+before:-0.000000794
