Carmen the Fish

My name is PA. This class is called stories. We learn about writing different rent kind of stories like fables. We also learn about punctuation and different kinds of sentence structures. In this action Project, we had to write a fable that would teach a lesson. I wrote mine about People lying and paying for it. I also wrote about listening to your parents. I think if I did this project again I would add different animals because some did not make sense but overall this project was fun. Something I think I did really good on was the image. I think I did well on it because I didn't just draw the pond but I cut paper out of the world that I imagined and drew on top of the pictures. It took a very long time to do because I'm not that good at cutting things out. I think I did a pretty good job on everything and I think the time we were given to do this was the perfect amount of time I needed.

On a nice spring day, the trees blew a little to the right and a little to the left. The sun was shining harder than ever, and the pound reflected the sun's light. In the pond lived many creatures: fish, frogs, bugs, water snakes, turtles, and ducks. These animals all lived in peace, helping each other out in every bad and good situation they had.

Gorge the frog, the mayor of the pond, called all the animals of the pond and said “In this pond we have some rules to keep the community safe, so we asked three things;

  1. No lying to a fellow animals of this pond.
  2. No killing other animals from the pond.
  3. Whatever you do, dont leave the pond.

After this, all the animals of the pond understood and followed these three rules. A few years, later Gorge the mayor died from eating a poison fly, so a fish named Juan took his place as the mayor. Juan had beautiful orange skin that reflected the sun. Juan married a frog named Chanel the same year he became mayor. Everything was going great until they had a son. He looked like a fish but also looked like a frog. He was bright orange and had frog like legs. He couldn't breathe on land but could still use his legs underwater. Juan and Chanel named him Carmen and told him not to lie, never go outside of the pond, and never kill another animal from the pond. He grew up to be a shorter fish than other, but his skin was the nicest in the pond. Everyday, he went to school that was across the water. One day his parents never saw him come home so they were worried. Carmen the Fish was hanging out with his friends, Marcus the Duck and Johnny the Bug. They were heading toward the edge of the pond because they were curious why they couldn't leave the pond. They got to the edge and saw a bird in the trees. He said to them, “What are you kids doing here?”. “Why do you care” asked Carmen. “There are snakes over here. It's not safe” said the bird. “You're just a dumb bird”, Marcus yelled. ‘Shhhhhhh, the snakes are going to come if they hear you” said the bird. The bushes shook and rattled. Then a humongous python came out of the bush. Marcus swam away as fast as he could swim, but Johnny and Carmen stood still. “Who are you, sssss” said the snake. “My name is Carmen and this is Jonny”. “Come out to the land. I can't ssssssssssee you in the dark pond” said the pithon. “Leave while you still can” the bird said. The bug hovered the water and dipped. Now it was just Carmen, the bird, and the pithon. “You should of left with you friends while you had a chance” the bird said. The snake bit the bird in a second, and swallowed it in one gulp. Carmen was frightened but still didn't leave. “Come out here with me, Fish can breathe on land. I want to give you food” the pithon said. Carmen thought about it and came slowly out the water. The fish walked on the land but couldnt breath. The pithon quickly grabbed him with his tail and held him over his mouth. Carmen's dad, Juan the fish reflected the sun off his skin to burn the snakes eye. “Ahhhhhhhhhhh” the snake screamed and dropped the fish. Juan grabbed Carmen and pulled him underwater. “CARMEN!” yelled Juan. Carmen coughed and started breathing. “Thanks dad” Carmen said. “If you want to survive you have to listen to our rules. We made them to protect you”.  Juan and Carmen swam back to their home and lived a great life.
The moral of the story is to never lie and to be obedient.
