The Hero's journey for spider man and Mario

Hi, my name is PA. The class this Action Project is for my class called Stories. In Stories, we learn about many things like punctuation, different types of stories, sentence structures, etc. For this Action Project, we have to choose a fictional hero and a real hero for us. For my fictional hero, I picked Spiderman. I picked Spiderman because he's my favorite hero. His superpowers are super cool and his suit. After finding a fictional hero I had to find a real hero to me. I realized that I have no real heroes in my life so I thought of someone that was important in my family. I think the most important family member is Mario, my great grandpa. He did so much in his life and has a crazy story to tell. I interviewed my great grandpa and learned so many things I never knew about him. Doing this project got me closer to him and got me asking myself more questions.  Here is my action project. 

FICTIONAL: SPIDERMAN

Call to adventure: Spiderman call to adventure is when he's in a science lab and while he's taking pictures of Mary Jane a spider jumps on him and bites him. After that, he started feeling sick and weird things started happening to him like he didn't have to wear glasses anymore.

Supernatural aid: The mentors in Spider Man's life were his aunt and uncle because he grew up with them and they always help him through everything he goes through.

Crossing 1st threshold: Spiderman started fighting and helping people around his city so his city can be safer.

Belly of the whale: The belly of the whale happened when Spiderman got an updated suit that helps him fight. He also got spiderwebs to help him swing from place to place.

Temptation: One of Spiderman's temptations is a girl named Mary Jane. She a temptation because he likes her but doesn't want her to know he's Spiderman, so he always wants to be with her but has to help people in his city too.

Spiderman 1 (2011)

Refusal of return: Spiderman didn't take breaks from fighting and kept helping people in his city.
The refusal of the call is that he didn't return to normal life, and he stuck with fighting for his city.

Magic Flight: The magic flight in spiderman is green goblin. Green goblin is a human in a green suit that rides a hovering ship. Green goblin is the villain and he causes chaos in the city.

Rescue from without: The girl he likes (Mary Jane) and a bus full of kids are in trouble so he has to save them but he also has to fight green goblin at the same time because he's the one that's putting her and the bus full of kids in danger.

REAL: MY GREAT GRANDPA
Call to adventure: My great grandpa was pretty much an orphan. His grandmother took care of him but was never there for him because she was always begging on the streets in Mexico.  They were very poor and didn't have food or money.

Supernatural Aid: The supernatural aid in his life was God because he led him through his life and answered his prayers. My great grandpa was ready and confident to leave Mexico. God told him to go north and he listened and was not refuse God's call.
Crossing 1st threshold: His first threshold was actually leaving his town to start a new life. While on his journey to reach California he had no food, no water, and witnessed a lot of violence.
Belly of the whale: The belly of the whale is my great grandpa crossing the border from Mexico to California and starting a new life in the USA.


Apostasis (Death): My great grandpa died mentally because of the seven-year journey to California but was reborn when he crossed the border.


Road of Trials: The Road of Trials in his life was working in very very hot conditions picking tomatoes, lettuce, asparagus, orange, and anything that grew in California. He said he fainted a couple times from being out so long and not wearing a hat.


Temptations: The temptations in my great grandpa's life was drinking. He was an alcoholic, and he started drinking when he was eight. He started so young because he would have to carry alcohol as a job and when he got thirsty he would drink so of the alcohol.


Ultimate boon: The Ultimate Boon is when he marched with Cesar Chavez to demand better working conditions and better pay.


Freedom to Live: My Great grandpa’s Freedom to Live happened when he got married, had kids and got a better job to support his family.

In my class called Cure, this term we learned a lot  about different types of medications and drugs that treat and cure illnesses and diseases. For this Action Project, we had to pick a symptom  of illnesses and diseases and find three different types of treatments. Surviving Failure

For my class Endurance, We study the skill of endurance. We started with reading the book Night and digging deep. We did three great Projects this term all leading up to each other. For the final project for the year, we created our Survival Guide takes you through what the future holds for us. For me it a life of failing and getting back up. I have failed and hope to fail more to get where I want to in life. I have nothing else but to succeed and I will do just that. My teacher SH taught me so much this year that I will remember for the rest of my life. Even though I am not the best student I don't let it hold me back from other opportunities God gives me. SH showed me who I can be and about the world. I hope SH keeps helping young students reach their full potential in school and not in school. I want to thank SH for helping me, graduate. Moving Midway

In this class called Thin Red Lines, we made many had drawn maps and looked at a variety of maps. This term was very exciting for me because most of the Field Experiences we went on have been very active. For our Action Project, we had to Make three separate maps and write at a 500-word explanation about the map. As you can see I have drawn three maps and layered them all on top of each other to show you how they compare. The area I drew around is Midway airport and the three maps are different time periods in the same place where Midway currently sits.
